German Pancakes - Edible Abstract Art

The storm is gone. The sky is blue. Well, small parts of it are blue. It's still breezy enough to fly a kite, but only one of those cheap, light-weight store ones - nothing substantial or homemade.

For dinner we decided on German pancakes. These are good, and always interesting to look at.

1 c milk
1 c flour
6 eggs
1/2 tsp salt

Melt 1/2 cube butter in 9x13 pan in oven set to 450 (425 for glass). Blend ingredients in blender and pour into pan. Bake 20-25 minutes, and top with strawberries.

Oh, I remember fixing German Pancakes for my kids. This was a while ago. It was such an easy morning breakfast and they were good.

You brought back fond memories with this one.

Warm Regards!

those pancakes do look interesting....question, if i wanted to serve it at dinner do you think i could throw in some chicken or beef and some veggies? kinda like a shepards pie??? of course the pancakes with strawberries sound yum!!
My roomate in college made those once and they were very good.

You know, I've never thought about topping them with anything but strawberries, but I guess a good meat pie filling put on top would be pretty good, too.

I'd bake the pancakes regular and then put the meat on top afterwards.

Yummy. My 13 year old son loves to make these. He usually eats the whole pan himself, though ;)
