Hoo-Wee! That Was a Blast!

Today Kara and I defrosted the freezer, and we had a great time.

Well, ok - that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but it really was kind of fun. Kara melted the frost with the steamer, and I sucked it up with the shop vac. We were finished in record time.

I dumped over five gallons out of the vacuum when we were done - evidence that the task was long overdue.

As an added bonus, I found some bags of guava puree buried under all that ice. Tomorrow I'm going to start a batch of Guavalicious apple butter.

Maybe I'll even have a contest and give some away - provided there's enough interest (hint, hint).

One of those bottles had better make it into my hands when you come in July! :)

That sounds absolutly delicious. And you've reminded me I need to defrost my freezer too--who knows what I'll find.

um, i'll be needing a recipe for that . . . and yes, a giveaway might be necessary too.
I'm still hoping you'll bring a jar or two to nest years writer's conference. I think both of my freezers need defrosting.

I just read all your posts I'd missed since visting last...sorry it's been awhile since I've come around. I feel shame. Guilt. And my face is burning red hot.

I love that you, Kara and girls are getting back to 'normal'! It makes me smile. :)

You've been busy with planting and organizing these days. I'm super impressed!

Thanks to everyone for leaving comments. The committee has approved a contest!

And Liz, the recipe is a closely guarded secret, but is really pretty simple - apple puree, guava puree, a couple of ordinary spices, and 20 hours of continuous stirring.
