Spring Break Dallas Trip

A couple of weeks ago, the girls were out of school for spring break. We were originally hoping for a trip to Utah, but that fell through. In the end, it's probably just as well, as the girls had a different activity pretty much every evening.

I decided to take a half day off of work and take them to Dallas on the one night they didn't have anything else planned. So we piled into the van and started driving east.

First stop: the Lego Store. Alyssa has really been into building with Legos lately, and since we'd never been I decided it would be a fun trip. They have this wall full of random Lego bits, and you can fill these little plastic bins with whatever fits. We got a lot of wheels - Lego wheels are the best.

They also have some bins where you can build your own mix and match Lego people. I was a little disappointed in the selection, but the girls had a great time, anyway. These dudes were maybe not as good of a value as the mix-n-match bins, though.

We found a store with a big Batman.

Then we went to dinner at the Macaroni Grill, followed by a trip to the American Girl store.

Alyssa has been big into caring for her babies lately, too, so this was a great trip for her.

Anna has pretty much outgrown American Girl. So have I.

Some other Spring Break activities included sleep-overs, backyard camp-outs, and a Young Women cookie dough making party.

It was fun having the girls home for the week. It was even more fun when they went back to school the next day.

I hear you! I did the happy dance all day today. (The boys went back to school.) I didn't hear "I'm bored!" even once!
