Quick Kara update

This has been one of those weeks where there was too much going on to blog about. Here's a quick update.

Kara has both a blood clot and an infection where her PICC line was. She is on blood thinners and IV antibiotics. She was in the hospital until Thursday afternoon, when she was finally released.

She did OK last night. She's going to infuse her antibiotic this morning, and then we're headed off to Dallas this afternoon to see her regular doctor.

Without the PICC line, she has to eat. There are several foods that she tested at the allergy clinic that she didn't react to, and most of those her gut has been able to tolerate. She has to eat one food at a time, and rotate those foods so each has a chance to clear her system before she eats it again. So far she has eaten rice, beef broth, apple, pear, zucchini, and green beans. In the bullpen are papaya, yucca root, mango, buffalo, butternut, rutabaga, and yellow squash

She is scheduled to get a new PICC line on Tuesday of next week. Thank goodness. I'm tired of running the blender already.

In other news, Anna lost a tooth.
